PUBLICATION PROGRAM & ARTISTS' OPPORTUNITIES
Each year the Center for Book Arts produces books by both established
and emerging artists in coordination with the Apprenticeship and
Internship Programs. The Center is currently producing Nikolai Gogol's
The Diary of a Madman, originally published in 1835. This special,
limited edition book was designed, printed and bound under the
direction of Mikhail Magaril, the Center’s apprentice. The book,
letterpress printed with drypoint illustrations, is being produced in an
edition of 100.
The Center has also produced Cinnamon Bay Sonnets, a
collection of poetry by Andrew Kaufman, the 1996 Chapbook
Competition winner; Black Butterfly, by Judith Vollmer, the 1997 winner;
Fox Luck, by James Haug, the 1998 winner; and
Leap Second at the Turn of the Millennium, by Donald Platt, the 1999
winner.
The Center also publishes a newsletter as well as catalogs and
brochures.
