  • Courses designed to accommodate students at all levels of experience

Studio rental is available to any person who is qualified to use the equipment., including a 36" guillotine peper cutter, a 3-ton Kensol hot stamping press, five Vandercook proof presses, a treadle platen press and several hand platen presses from 5" x 8" and up, including a newspaper size Washington Hand Press, many cases of hand type, and all the usual equipment you expect to find in a letterpress printshop and hand bindery. If a class must be cancelled by the Center due to under-enrollment, students will be notified and the full tuition will be refunded, or the student may apply that tuition toward another course, workspace rental, products or memberships. If a class has already filled when a student's payment is received, the full amount will be refunded or may be applied toward another course.

Please Be Advised
The experience of learning bookmaking is important to us at the Center for Book Arts. Classes tend to be comprehensive and a lot of information is covered in each session, especially those sessions at the beginning of the course. For this reason, participants who miss a session may not be allowed to rejoin the class if the instructor deems that catching up the student would be detrimental to everyone else in the class. The Center will not be responsible for absent students who are not allowed to rejoin a class and no refund or credit will be made for the remainder of the session.
